Royal Challengers Bangalore have started their 13th season of IPL with a win. RCB defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 runs in their first match of the season. Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 163/5 in 20 overs, batting first, in response to which Sunrisers Hyderabad was bowled out for 153 runs. This is the first time since the 2016 IPL season that RCB has won its first match of the season.
RCB players performed well in this match. In batting, young Devadatta Padikkal got an opportunity and made a half-century in his IPL debut. Apart from this, there were great performances in bowling too. After this great victory of his team, captain Virat Kohli has also given a great response and expressed happiness on the team’s great performance.
In the first match, 3 things were very positive for RCB and we will tell you about it in this article. So let’s know what the positives for RCB were from this match.
3 positive things for RCB in the first match.
3. Positive Mindset despite being under pressure
During the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the RCB team was under a lot of pressure. Johnny Bairstow was batting heavily and it seemed that he would single-handedly win the match. Despite this, RCB bowled with positive mindsets and continued to try.
Despite being behind in the match, the players did not bow. Even Bairstow missed 3 catches but despite this, no player was disappointed. Captain Virat Kohli also praised this after the match and said that earlier when the team was under pressure, the shoulders of the players bowed but this time it is not so. This is a good sign for RCB and it can prove to be a dangerous team.
2. Shivam Dubey’s outstanding performance in bowling
One plus point for RCB in this match was bowling by their all-rounder Shivam Dubey. Shivam Dubey did not do very well in batting but showed a great game in bowling. He took 2 wickets for just 15 runs in 3 overs. Due to his superb bowling, a spinner like Washington Sundar got only 1 over by captain Virat Kohli.
Shivam Dubey’s performance in bowling is quite positive for RCB. The weakness of the team has been bowling every season and if the all-rounder like Shivam Dubey bowls well then it will give the team many options and captain Kohli can rotate the bowlers well if needed.
1.Dhuddhaar batting of Devdutt Padikkal
The biggest positive in this match was Devdutt Padikkal for RCB. Padikkal made his IPL debut and played brilliant innings of 56 off 42 balls in the first match. For this reason, RCB managed to take full advantage of 6 overs of Powerplay.
Parthiv Patel batting a little slower and the team was left behind. If Padikkal performs a similar performance in the upcoming matches, then it will lighten the burden a little over Virat as well.
